Fascinating interactive installations – Mechanical Mirrors

Professor Daniel Rozin and his technical artwork inspires…

The artist Daniel Rozin invites you in his exposition “Descent with Modification” to be part of his artificial work. He is working on transition of surfaces through interaction with men, machine, things and animals.

Supported by sensors and motors sequences of simple objects, like wooden plates reflect a rough and interactive image, of what is in front of the installation.
Behind each “mirror” a hidden camera is installed, recording the spectator and his action. In realtime the recorded data is transformed into a 830 byte video signal. A special software application developed by Daniel Rozin controls the sequence of motors in the background to change the angle of each wooden plate creating a mirror of the recorded image. The result: An interactive reflection of the person or object in front of the picture frame.
